Chroma Absolu - The Ingredients Powering This Color Boosting Range

The latest hair color range from Kérastase is powered by science and a trio of potent acids. Let's dive in.
Chroma Absolu

Coloring your hair can be permanantly damaging. Chroma Absolu is here to change that. The new innovative range consists of 7 products to care for your color treated hair at home, and 2 in-salon treatments designed for hair that is sensitized or damaged from color procedures. The hair treatments tackle unwanted color-induced issues such as unwanted frizz, porous strands that lead to color fade, and a lack of shine due to a dry, coarse texture. Chroma Absolu is powered by a trio of acids; Tartaric, Lactic, and Amino Acids, as well as a plant-based ingredient, Centella Asiatica, that is loved in skincare. Keep reading to find out about the ingredients that help you maintain your dream hair color for longer.

Amino Acid

This healing acid helps to transform, smoothen and gently resurface hair fibers. It penetrates down to the cortex to rebuild the hair from the inside out and repair damaged hair. Amino acids are organic compounds that combine to form proteins and are the buildig blocks of everything from healthy hair to skin. Hair is made from keratin and amino acids, so funneling them deep down into sensitized or damaged hair helps to strengthen your strands.

Tartaric Acid

A lesser-known Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) - yes, from the same family of ingredients you lean on to exfoliate your skin - is also a powerful antioxidant. Tartaric acid is effective in treating damaged hair and reduces oxidative stress shields against external damage.

Chroma Absolu

Lactic Acic

Another AHA, lactic acid is used in skincare to exfoliate and hydrate. In Chroma Absolu, it also gently exfoliates the hair, whilst sealing the surface to reduce frizz and amplify shine. Lactic acid works to increase the permeability of your strands, letting moisture in before sealing them closed, which is why it's used at an optimal 0.7% concentrate in our hero product from, the Soin Acide Chroma Gloss.

Centella Asiatica

Centella Asiatica (also known as Tiger Grass and Cica) has been big news in skincare for a few years now. As a regenerative plant, it has powerful healing abilities, able to soothe skin and hair. Beyond soothing, it has been found to strenghten the hair and support healthy hair growth, which is why it plays such an important role in the Chroma Absolu range.

The Chroma Absolu range harnesses these ingredients to achieve 96% stronger* hair, 70% more shine** and 92% color intensity even after 6 weeks***.
