Why Is My Hair Not Shining?
ALIGNED HAIR = MORE SHINE
It is key to have a regular hair surface with cuticles that are well aligned. This enables to reflect the light in the same direction, the shine perceived by our eyes is then perceived as strong.
CONDITIONED CUTICLE = MORE SMOOTHNESS
Smoothness reflects the condition of hair surface and especially cuticles. A damaged cuticle shows asperities at the fiber surface. Cuticles are raised, the hair snags and becomes rough to the touch.

Ambient humidity acts on hair properties which are at the origin of frizz. When hair is exposed to variations in humidity, its geometric characteristics (fiber diameter, volume) and mechanical properties (ability to resist to torsion) tends to change, and frizz appear.

The amount of hair oil needed ranges from 1-2 drops depending on the length, texture, thickness and condition of the head of hair in question. The trick is to apply one pump at a time and distribute the oil evenly. Start small.
Should I apply Elixir Ultime on my lengths only or can I apply it on my scalp too?
Elixir Ultime is designed to be applied only on your lengths to boost hair shine, to seal split ends and help you with frizz control. We do not recommend to apply directly on scalp. At Kerastase, we develop other formulas specific for scalp treatment.
Should hair oil be applied on wet or dry hair?
It depends on the result you are seeking: Applying oil on wet hair means less shine, but it helps with detangling & heat protection before blow drying. On dry hair, the shine factor is higher and you will get better frizz protection.
